Cubs Sending Straily, Valbuena To Houston For Fowler

It’s officially official: Dexter Fowler is a Chicago Cub. Luis Valbuena and Dan Straily are Houston Astros.

Fowler, who will be 29 on Opening Day, played in Houston last year after spending the first six years of his career in Colorado. He has a career .271/.366/.419 line – and has never had an OBP below .347.
Straily, 26, was acquired in the Jeff Samardzija deal last year. He has a career 4.54 ERA (4.71 FIP) in 48 games (42 as a starter).
Valbuena, 29, will bring one of the best bat flips in the game to Houston – even on walks:
