Here are the details:
According to a source, Hughes agreed to a three-year, $42 million contract extension with the Twins, a deal which will keep the 28-year-old in Minnesota through the 2019 season.
The extension supersedes the final two years and $16 million remaining on his current contract, essentially giving him a new five-year, $58 million pact.
Solid deal for the Twins there. Hughes, 28, pitched for the Twins last season after spending his first seven years with the Yankees. He had by far his best season (16-10 – FWIW, 3.52 ERA, 209 IP, 8 K/9 and a league-leading 0.7 BB/9).
