Atlanta Journal-Constitution Columnist Likes The Wave
Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution notes that Braves GM John Hart optimistically says his team “will be very competitive” in 2015, after trading away Justin Upton and Jason Heyward. More realistically, however, Hart also notes it positions the Braves better for the future:
“We realize we’ve lost power with the trade of Justin, but along the way we’ve been able to give ourselves financial flexibility going forward in 2015,” Hart said.
Schultz is buying none of that:
Here’s the thing: Fans don’t start waves in stadiums because of financial flexibility. They start waves because of runs and wins.
Wait. Is that a good thing? If not scoring runs and losing games can kill the wave, then I’m fully on board with John Hart.
Now if we could just figure out what will kill the chop in Atlanta …
