Wil Myers Traded To San Diego In Three-Team Deal

A day later, Wil Myers has been traded to the Padres in a deal involving three teams and 11 players. MLB Trade Rumors lays it out:

Young outfielder Wil Myers will head to San Diego as the centerpiece of the trade, and indeed the entire pact will depend upon the health of his balky wrist, Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports notes on Twitter. San Diego receives righty Gerardo Reyes and Jose Castillo from Tampa as well. The Rays will add Burch Smith and Jake Bauers in return. And the Pads and Rays will also swap catchers Ryan Hanigan and Rene Rivera.

Much of Tampa’s haul, however, will come from another source: the Nationals will send outfielder Steven Souza and young lefty Travis Ott to Tampa in exchange for righty Joe Ross and shortstop Trea Turner (as a PTBNL) , each of whom will head from the Padres to D.C. by way of Tampa.

Myers has played his first two seasons with the Rays after being traded from the Royals in the James Shields deal.
