We had previously noted that the Cardinals are not interested in players simply because they are from Missouri, as Max Scherzer is.

Players who are from Missouri – AND really freaking good (as Scherzer is)? That could be a different story. But apparently not in this case:

How expensive is he going to be?

Reports say he is seeking north of $200 million – or in line with what Clayton Kershaw got. That price tag has driven away the big-spending Tigers, his former team, as well.
